Governor Still Lacks Support For New Bridge
The State Senate is still not on board with Governor Snyder on his proposed plans to build another bridge connecting Detroit and Windsor. They're making that clear when compiling the new state transportation budget. Most agreed no money should be taken from that budget to buy any land the proposed bridge would be built on.
Those who back the Governor say the Ambassador Bridge carries plenty of international traffic and another bridge would help expand that commerce.
Opponents say the bridge now is not operating at near capacity and to build another one with any state money would not be a good investment. Some say that money would be better spent on helping to fix the state's roads.
