Steve Gruber: welcome to the program.
Shaun Flanagan: Thank you.
Steve Gruber: Good to have you here. I'm not hearing it particularly. Well Sean. I know you're around the planet. But you say that American Prosperity depends on States being Laboratories of democracy. What do you mean by that?
Shaun Flanagan: So we Legatum Institute has been measuring prosperity of the global level for about the past 13 years and prosperity. We have a lien very realistically but look for both economic and social well-being and I think that crucial to really helping lift people out of poverty. It's both working hand-in-hand together. So we've been measuring that globally and then about two years ago. We were asked to do this project where we looked at the prosperity across the 50 states of the USA. So applying our Global Knowledge to the state. We then developed this holistic index and there's a whole range of messages coming out but one of the things that's coming out by strongly is that there's every state has an opportunity to improve on different aspects of prosperity.
