Ja’Ron Smith is the Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the Office of American Innovation.

In 2017, President Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which established Opportunity Zones to incentivize investment in forgotten communities across the nation. As part of the Administration’s efforts to promote Opportunity Zones, Ja’Ron Smith, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the Office of American Innovation, is visiting Michigan today. He will meet with local business leaders and government officials to encourage investment and engagement in Opportunity Zones. Opportunity Zones along with President Trump’s deregulatory efforts and other economic policies have delivered record low unemployment and rising wages for African Americans.
