WILX.com reports that the Ingham County Health Department is issuing a no contact order for water ways in Mid-Michigan due to the release of wastewater.

The no contact order is in effect for Rayner Creek in Mason, Sycamore Creek, Red Cedar River downstream of Sycamore Creek, and Grand River downstream from the Red Cedar.

According to the report, the City of Mason was dealing with sewage backups after the recent string of heavy rains, forcing officials to release the wastewater into Rayner Creek to prevent further backups.

The waterways under the advisement include those that flow along and near Potter Park Zoo in Lansing. For full details, visit this link to WILX.com.
