Dantonio is ‘Re-Energized’, Ready for 2017 Season
Mark Dantonio had his opening press conference of the 2017 football season, and you could tell he was excited to look to the 2017 season.
Or at least as excited as the generally stoic coach can look.
While previewing Bowling Green, Michigan State's week one opponent, he gave praise to way the finished their season and also took note of the uptempo style that the Falcons utilize.
Dantonio also fielded questions about his team this year, specifically he reiterated how Brian Lewerke is his guy at quarterback to start the year and talking about all the different freshmen that are on the roster in key positions.
Seriously, look at this year's first depth chart. There's a lot of "Fr" designations high up on the depth chart. Including starting Right Tackle Luke Campbell, who is a redshirt freshman.
Dantonio also revealed that Brandon Sowards has been lost for the season due to an ACL injury.
The Spartans open up the 2017 football season against the Bowling Green Falcons from the Mid-American Conference with a noon kickoff time on Saturday. Catch all the action including pregame and postgame shows on your home for Spartan Sports, Classic Rock 94.9 WMMQ and Lansing's Big Talker 1240 WJIM.
