Flood waters almost proved fatal to a family of four from Michigan.  They had to be rescued by boat by firefighters in Indianapolis. 

The family was traveling from Shelby Township near Detroit to see family in the area when they became trapped in rising water.  An average of 5 inches of water fell in parts of Indiana over a three day period. The area in southwestern Indiana near Vincennes received 7 inches of the wet stuff.

The victims have been identified as 51 year old Douglas Nieske, his 53 year old wife, Sonia, and their two daughters--ages 19 and 21.  They're luggage also retrieved.  Fortunately, no one was hurt
