What’s Happening in Mid-Michigan This Weekend: Bologna, Jazz & More
Looks like lots of sunshine this Saturday and Sunday! Want to get out and have some fun? There's lots to do within just a couple hours' drive of Lansing this weekend!
Au Sable River Festival in Grayling
The Au Sable River Festival is underway now through Saturday (July 30) in Grayling. One of this event's annual highlights is the Au Sable River Canoe Marathon. This year's event will also feature cornhole and horseshoe tournaments, live entertainment and more.
Fowlerville Family Fair
90s country star John Michael Montgomery headlines this year's Fowlerville Family Fair on its final night, Saturday, July 30. Between now and then, the fair lives up to its "Neon Lights & Country Nights" theme with micro wrestling on Thursday night and a rodeo Friday night. The carnival is open from 1pm to 11pm daily.
Flint Jazz Festival
Now in its 40th year, the annual Flint Jazz Festival runs through Sunday (July 31) at Flint's Riverfront Park. Highlights include the 2022 Jazzwalk, which involves live jazz at a handful of local venues; and nightly jazz from local, regional and national acts including Lee Ritenour, Bob James and Alexander Zonjic.
Munger Potato Festival
The 67th Munger Potato Festival is underway Thursday through Sunday (July 28-31). Highlights include Munger's Figure 8 and Demo Derby, live entertainment, and a 5K Spud Run. Carnival rides will be available daily, and of course, there's a potato giveaway Sunday after the hometown parade.
Yale Bologna Festival
Yale fancies itself as Bolognaville, USA, and sets out to prove it this weekend with the annual Yale Bologna Festival. This year's event runs Friday through Sunday (July 29-31) and features several yearly favorites including the Bologna Ring Toss World Record Finals, the Big Bologna Parade, and Cardboard Boat Races on Mill Creek on Sunday.
Mid-Michigan's Enchanted Forest
Mid-Michigan's Enchanted Forest, not far from Frankenmuth, wraps up this weekend (July 30-31). It offers dozens of period entertainers, food, and lots of pirate games. This weekend's theme is "High Seas Hi-Jinks", featuring pirates and belly dancers.
Fallasburg Village Celebration
In Lowell, the Fallasburg Village Celebration is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 30. There'll be Civil War reenactors, a car and equipment show, and plenty of games and live entertainment.
