Threats Made For Michigan State Athletic Events
East Lansing and Michigan State University police departments issued a joint statement Friday afternoon regarding a letter received by both departments making general threats directed towards MSU sporting events. The letter does not specify an action or event, according to the statement.
Both agencies are working with additional law enforcement officials to investigate the origin of the letter and its validity. Police are urging citizens and campus-goers to remain vigilant and to report anything suspicious to police.
A report from the Lansing State Journal adds that no sporting events or activities have been canceled, and that MSU officials are taking appropriate safety measures.
