On Groundhog Day, February 2nd Punxsutawney Phil was yanked out of his comfortable little box filled with straw and plenty of carrots to look around a snow covered Pennsylvania town. He was looking for his shadow but apparently it was a very cloudy day and there was no shadow to be found. So the rat predicted spring would be coming 6 weeks early.

I was looking ahead at the forecast over the next few days and I see temperatures soaring into the 60’s for a couple of days and highs in the 50’s for the better part of the next two weeks.

The snow will be gone and warm temperatures will be here instead. Looking at the calendar, if spring was coming 6 weeks early, it should arrive by about the 15th of March. The forecast for that day shows a high of 55 degrees and a low of 40 degrees with a fair amount of sunshine under scattered clouds. Sounds like a nice spring day.

It seems the rat was right!

Cheers.
