DAY TRIP TRAILS
UPPER PENINSULA
CHAMPION – CRAIG LAKE – One of the last rustic lakes in Michigan, only rustic campsites.  The trail around the lake is a bit rough with awesome rock formations and connects with the north country trail. - NEARBY - Mt. Shasta Log Cabin Restaurant – known foe movie scenes from Anatomy of a Murder (1959) starring Jimmy Stewart, Lee Remick.
NORTH
KALKASKA – SEVEN BRIDGES TRAIL –
Locally known as the Jewel of Kalkaska County, the Seven Bridges Park is best known for its rustic wooden bridges that cross the Rapid River and its adjacent tributaries. The trail is only a mile long and is almost entirely forested.
This river is a blue ribbon trout stream, and the Seven Bridges area has over one mile of river frontage. This level, one mile trial is an easy walk for most anyone.
SOUTH
MUSKEGON – MOCCASIN FLOWER TRAIL – Rycenga Park – Very nice park that happens to be in a populated area.  The trail is part of a system within a woodland of towering trees.  The center trail leads to the boardwalk which follows the path of a stream.  This time of year, that section is filled with hundreds of Lady Slippers, used to be called Moccasin Flowers.
NEARBY ENGINE HOUSE #5 – historic destination that is one of a kind, even has a working army TANK to play with, except the cannon
