Students from Leonard Elementary School in Troy were one of two schools picked to participate in a video chat with Swift, the other school was in Poway, California. Scholastic magazine held a contest for children to speak with the pop star about books and music.

Genia Connell, a fifth grade teacher at Leonard Elementary worked hard to make this once in a lifetime event happen for her students. Three children from her class had the chance to ask Swift a question.

Swift has dominated the pop and country charts with songs she has written about relationships and breakups.  Her most recent album moves away from her country roots more into the pop genre. A seven time Grammy award winner she has twelve Billboard Music Awards, eleven Country Music Association Awards, and eleven Academy of Country Music Awards. At the age of 24 she is taking the music world by storm.
