New Coffee Shop Supporting Veterans to Open in Grand Rapids This Spring
A new coffee shop with a wonderful mission is coming to Grand Rapids.

For the past decade the non-profit Has Heart has been helping veterans express themselves through art and connect with others through coffee.
This summer, after extensive fundraising, Has Heart will finally open a permanent location.
The new coffee shop will open where Has Heart displays vets' artwork at ArtPrize each year: Veteran's Memorial Park downtown Grand Rapids.
In November 2022, Has Heart broke ground on the project. They've been working to renovate a historic building on the park's grounds at 22 Sheldon Ave NE in partnership with Grand Rapids' Parks and Recreation.
Has Heart says the new coffee shop and retail space will be will be a year-round gathering place for all veterans and civilians to meet and share a cup of coffee - and maybe even an ice cream cone!
The non-profit is also seeking help from veterans in outfitting the coffee shop. They shared to Facebook in March they were looking for vets with abilities to help them build special tables that will feature veterans' stories within each one.
Guests at the shop will get to view artwork from veterans as well.
