The Investigation Continues into a Deadly Plant Explosion

An explosion at a steel plant near Detroit has killed one person, injured at least 2 others, and halted operations. 

It happened at the U.S. Steel Great Lakes Works in Ecorse.  No word yet on what caused the explosion but company officials say the plant is again safe. Representatives from the company, United Steelworkers Union and regulatory agencies are on scene investigating.

The worker killed, identified as 32 year old Antonino Palazzolo, was a remote control locomotive operator who had been with the company for 2 years.   The Ecorse plant is about 10 miles south-southwest of downtown Detroit.
