Dirty Harvey And The Dem

It’s all quiet today on the Western Front of entertainment. It seems nobody wants to talk about the man who created an empire and carried many to super stardom. Hollywood and their co-conspirators in cable news and the Democratic Party have all gone silent now that Harvey Weinstein’s personal war on women has come tumbling out of the closet. The New York Times is finally delivering the dirty laundry on one of the most powerful men in the history of films and one of the most powerful fundraisers and supporters of the Democratic Party for better than two decades.

Weinstein has been a force of nature in the world of entertainment for many years and started both Miramax and The Weinstein Company, although the latter terminated him over the weekend as the scandal continued to widen. Weinstein’s behavior over so many years means it’s quite likely that those who kept the worst kept secret in Hollywood out of the papers for years will also have a steep price to pay.

The fear of crossing Weinstein in Hollywood was no secret either. This is a man who created “Sex, Lies and Videotape,” “The English Patient,” “Pulp Fiction,” and “Shakespeare in Love,” among others. He wielded real power, everyone knew it but no one dared to say a word.

The Times originally had the scoop on Weinstein’s aggressive sexual demands and abuse of women in Hollywood as far back as 2004 but it seems the news wasn’t fit to print after Harvey played hardball and had his influential friends kill the story. Now however the story of this one-man-wrecking-crew is snowballing out of control and yet the usual suspects of so-called feminists, activists, and champions of women are almost completely silent and nowhere to be found.

Double standard much?

The New York Times article cited at least 8 women who had claimed sexual harassment but had been paid hush money to keep quiet. Today the New Yorker delivered even more devastating stories of women being sexually abused and even raped by Dirty Harvey.

I’ll get back to that in a moment but what is most startling is that Weinstein was closely aligned with many powerful Democrats including Bill and Hillary Clinton, giving them tens of thousands of dollars in recent years. He gave both to Hillary’s campaign and to The Clinton Foundation. So far however it doesn’t seem that Weinstein’s perversions or abuse of women made her skin crawl. The former Democratic Presidential Nominee has taken great pride in demeaning President Donald Trump for off-color comments about women but the actual acts of harassment and rape are of no concern. At least they are of no concern if it’s someone who dumped piles of money into your pocket. It’s odd that Hillary who seems willing to run to any camera these days has gone strangely quiet.

Weinstein also visited the White House at least 13 times during Barack Obama’s Presidency and gave generously to his campaigns as well. The Democratic Committee took in well over $300,000 in recent years from Weinstein. The DNC for its part has offered to generously give 10% of that amount to charity. Yep 10% seems to be sufficient to cover the bad acts of a man who took advantage of women on an almost daily basis we are learning. Yet there has not been a peep from Obama or his people about giving back the money or saying anything at all.

An Italian actress Asia Argento told the New Yorker that she wasn’t just harassed by Dirty Harvey but that he raped her. In fact three women tell the magazine that he raped them. And speaking of “Sex, Lies and Videotape,” there is actually an audio tape of Harvey admitting that he groped women. That tape was made by the New York City Police Department during an undercover investigation.

Which brings me back to why is not one leading Democrat including the likes of Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama coming out to condemn this man. Harvey Weinstein is a pig of epic proportions and he could soon be facing much bigger problems if the rape allegations are taken to the next level. I can assure you that now he has been knocked off from his casting couch he will face an downpour of civil litigation. But after causing nearly as much damage and heartache as the hurricane by the same name, I guess you would expect that.

Meanwhile, I’m just waiting for Hillary’s press conference to denounce the left’s war on women!

Update- After days of tawdry reports Hillary has now come out and said she was “shocked and appalled by the revelations.” I guess we are slowly making progress.
