The National Weather Service says that the Lansing area could see some strong storms later today. The NWS says the area with the greatest threat of severe storms is east of US-127 and the greatest threat with today's storms is the possibility of wind gusts greater that 50 mph. Along with the strong wind gusts, some areas could see new rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch and those totals could be even higher in the areas that do see storms today. Speaking of storms, the National Weather Service has confirmed that there were no tornadoes in the strong storms that hit the Grand Rapids area earlier this week. According to a report from WILX, the damage done by those storms was the result of straight-line winds. Click here to read more.
