Happy Friday! If you have any outdoor plans late this afternoon and into the evening hours, you may want to reconsider because we've got some stormy weather headed our way. According to the National Weather Service, we'll see some scattered storms throughout the afternoon hours today. However, there are some stronger storms that are expected to hit the Lansing area starting around 4 pm and could continue until around midnight.

The strong to severe storms are expected to have some damaging winds with wind gusts around 50-60 mph. With today's storms, there's also the threat of some large hail, locally heavy rain and an isolated tornado is possible, too. The National Weather Service says that the areas with the greatest impacts will be near and south of I-96 including Lansing, Jackson, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Holland. Click here to see the complete forecast and check out the image below from the National Weather Service.
