One person was killed and another was injured early on Sunday morning in Lansing.

At about 1:45 AM, according to WILX, the Lansing Police Department were called out to a shooting on the 400 block of East Michigan Avenue.

Daryl Green, a Lansing Police Chief, says that a 43-year old man was chasing after a 21-year old man and shooting at him.

A third man stepped in, shooting and killing the 43-year old man.

The 21-year-old man currently has non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials are interviewing a suspect right now. It may be early on, but police are saying the shooting was out of self defense.
