Well, we all wanted warmer temperatures and that's what we'll be getting on Thursday in the Lansing area as high temperatures are expected to be in the mid-60s. However, along with the warmer temps it appears that we could also see some severe weather. According to the National Weather Service, there's the potential for some severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon. The NWS says the main threat with the storms on Thursday will be damaging winds. However, they do say that a tornado "will also be possible." The main threat of severe storms will be between 3pm and 10pm.

We'll also see some strong winds on Thursday with wind gusts near 45 mph. Another concern will be rainfall and snow melt. The National Weather Service says that rainfall and snow melt will lead to some river rises and that "people living along streams and rivers can expect rises over the course of the next week.
