I love getting together with family and friends for the holidays. When it comes to feeding everyone, my wife and I bring dishes to pass to her parents house for the meal, my inlaws tackle the bird.

Thanksgiving meals can be a lot of fun to make, they are a lot of work and can be cumbersome. The prep that goes into it seems to be more and more every year. Don't get me wrong, we love to cook, sometimes it just seems easier to go out for a meal.

From start to finish, it's a task. Planning for this years' meal started with a email and text thread about a month ago. I've received all of the notifications, at all hours of the night, and am certain of two things. One, I haven't checked the thread, that's ok because I know what we are bringing to pass. I am a simple man and don't have picky tastes. Two, turkey dinner can be overthought.

There are benefits to dining out for the Thanksgiving holiday. At the end of the day, eating out will save you a ton of time and possibly money. Take the stress out of prep by dining out. Cleanup is also a pain in the butt, it seems to take as long to clean up as it did to make the meal. Another thing to think about, I don't know how your family is, a restaurant is a neutral site. Although I have never experienced this, family tension can rise around the holidays, I've heard plenty of stories about the chaos that ensues and sometimes families falling apart. I hope this hasn't happened to you.

Of course Thanksgiving is a holiday, there are very few restaurants open on turkey day. I called each of these locations to confirm that they will be open for business to satisfy your hunger. Try something new this Thanksgiving and dine out. Call each restaurant for their hours of operation on Thanksgiving, if they take reservations I strongly encourage making one.
