I have two jobs right now in a pandemic world. One is behind the mic, and the other behind a register. While I cannot force you to wear a face mask, I will have to remind you to wear one whilst you're out and about.

I, myself, have already made my stance clear about staying off of the doors and not asking customers to wear masks at my retail job. As I'm not a manager and have little to no authority in my store, I don't feel I have a right to tell you not to come into my store. Nor should I have to face any consequences that come out of asking you to not come into the store.

As the world seems to be getting crazy, I wanted to play it safe. While you may feel like you don't have to wear a mask, that doesn't mean that an employee isn't just following orders by telling you to wear one.

I don't even want to wear one elven hours a day, because that's how long I end up working in a typical workday, give or take. However, we wear a mask either to not cause trouble or because we care about the health and safety of those around us.

That being said, my coworkers were called a rather obscene name at the doors at my retail job. While we all had a good laugh about it at the end of the day, they were just reminding some that masks are required right now. While we won't tackle you to wear one, we are going to politely tell you that masks are required now.

The customer who spoke the obscene words didn't seem to be aware that masks were required in a store. I would like to remind you though, if you have a medical condition, we won't check your medical history, as we can't. You are allowed in a store without one if you physically cannot wear a mask.

As a reminder, stay safe out there, wear your masks, and just be polite.
