Recall Targets 500,000 Ford Vehicles That May Roll Unexpectedly

WILX.com reports that Ford is recalling more than 500,000 vehicles that may unexpectedly roll while operators think the vehicle is in park.

According to the report, the recall affects some 550,000 2013-2014 Ford Escapes and 2013-2016 Ford Fusions. The recall effort will replace cable bushings on the shift mechanisms on affected vehicles.

The faulty bushing is responsible for connecting the shift cable to the transmission. It may come disconnected, showing drivers that the transmission is in another gear than it actually is.
