Police Saying Six People Shot In Indianapolis

Police are now saying that six people were shot late on Saturday night in Dowtown Indianapolis.

According to WILX, the incident happened at more than one location, one of them including a Steak n Shake. All victims have been taken to the hospitals, and two were reported to be in a critical, yet stable condition according to officials.

The victims range from children to adults. Police suspect that the perpetrator fled the scene.

"I don't believe this is a mass shooting type situation. What this is is unacceptable. It's unacceptable for anywhere in downtown Indianapolis. This person just started shooting and we don't know why. We don't know if there was a disturbance right beforehand, and we are still trying to learn that," Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Sgt. Genae Cook said.

This investigation is still in the early stages.
