A shooting occurred overnight in East Lansing and two suspects are currently at large. The Lansing State Journal reports that a 911 call was placed at 11:55pm on February 5, alerting the police to the shooting in the Grove Street parking ramp.

East Lansing police announced that Michael Anthony Smith, 22, DeWitt was killed, an another, yet-unnamed individual was injured. The suspects escaped the Grove Street ramp in a red four-door sedan, according to a parking attendant. The car may have been a Lincoln or a Dodge, although the make is unknown for certain.

The suspects are both black men, 5’9” and 160 to 185 lbs. and 5’11” roughly 200 lbs. Lt. Steve Gonzalez of the ELPD told LSJ that it is not believed to be a random act, nor is it believed “that the general public is at risk.
