You might think that suing for a cool million might be a bit much, but stop to think about what you would do if this happened to your child.

Sure, maybe you're thinking cooler heads would have prevailed in this instance. There are those of you (however) that if this happened to you kid (your daughter), you would have been on the way to that school to lay hands on whoever thought it was a good idea to put scissors to your child's hair.

The million dollar haircut that happened back in Mt. Pleasant earlier this year.

We told you about this back in April when it happened.

Could you imagine if you sent your kid to school with hair and they come back with a lot of it chopped off? And when you asked them who did it, they tell you the teacher did. And when you try to find out from the teacher why, you can't get any answers.

That's the story out of Mt. Pleasant with Jimmy Hoffmeyer and his 7-year old daughter.

Don't take the law into your own hands, you take em' to court.

That's one of my favorite lines from the original version of The People's Court when it had Judge Wapner on it.

And that's exactly what Jimmy Hoffmeyer is about to do.

Unsatisfied, on Tuesday, Jimmy Hoffmeyer filed a $1 million lawsuit against the school district, a librarian and a teacher’s assistant in federal court, according to NBC News (h/t MLive.com), which reported: “It alleges that the biracial girl’s constitutional rights were violated, racial discrimination, ethnic intimidation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and assault and battery.” (The Root)

Again, there were apologies and acknowledgement of wrongdoing by the staff. Mount Pleasant Public Schools had determined that the incident was a case of “good intentions” gone awry.

Instead, the poor decision-making of the librarian and a teacher’s assistant who was also present was dismissed with a reprimand for exercising “a major lack of judgment” and violating school policy.(The Root)

How would you have reacted on day one when your kid came home? Is the apology enough? Those involved were reprimanded and an apology was made. Was that enough? Should they have been fired? Is asking for a million too much?
