If you'd made a New Year's resolution to lose a bit of weight this year, it might be easier than you think.

New research shows that if you are considered a moderate drinker, you could shed weight simply by going dry for a time.  The so-called "Janopause" is a five week period where you simply give up alcohol and watch the health benefits kick in.

And Health and Wellness Expert Judy Gaman says the improvements are significant.  In addition to shedding weight--about 3 and a half pounds for most people--she says you can cut cholesterol levels by 5% and blood glucose levels by five times that amount!  In addition, Gaman says those who cut out drinking found they slept better and were more focused at work.
