Just a few blocks away from the Kalamazoo River sits the historic Inn of Saugatuck.
The home was built by John Koning in 1904, who owned the Koenig Hardware store, which sat next door. It was the second largest version of a Sears and Roebuck catalogue house, with an original cost of $1800!
For nearly 30 years, the residence has been operated as a bed and breakfast. The current owners say,
The special craftsmanship involved in restoration is evident everywhere you turn at the Inn of Saugatuck. Elegantly decorated, the Inn possesses all of the original oak woodwork and unique Victorian trim, and reminds one of the gracious style and charm of days past.
The eight-bedroom, nine-and-a-half bathroom, 4,041 square foot home boasts multiple en suite bathrooms and fireplaces.
There's also an owners suite, complete with sitting area and full bathroom and walk-in closet.
The full basement has tons of space for storage and the home also has its own huge two door garage for additional storage and cars.
The Saugatuck Inn is being sold completely furnished.
You could totally continue to operate it as a bed and breakfast - or move your own family in!
According to Crain's Grand Rapids, the current owner would love to see it continue on as a B&B, or transformed into a single family home.
