Heat Advisories Issued for Parts of Michigan
Yep, it's been hot for days now. And yep, it's gonna stay hot for several more days. So, how hot is it? Well, it's SOO hot that the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for some parts of lower Michigan. A Heat Advisory has been issued for people living in Livingston, Washtenaw, Oakland, Macomb, Genesee, Lapeer, Monroe and Wayne Counties where the heat index values could reach 100 degrees. A Heat Advisory was also issued for Saginaw County where heat index values could reach 99 degrees.
While it's still going to be VERY hot today in the Lansing area, we are currently not included in any of the heat advisories. The National Weather Service says that the Lansing area will continue to have high temperatures in the 90s today and tomorrow, too. However, cross your fingers because the NWS says that there's a chance for some scattered downpours or thunderstorms today and tomorrow for the Lansing area.
By the way, if you need to cool down, cooling centers WILL BE open today and Thursday in the Lansing area. You can call 211 to find a cooling center that is located near you.
