The Michigan Gaming Control Board announced on Friday that the three Detroit casinos will begin having sports betting next Wednesday.

Official final approval is expected to come next Tuesday when the Board will meet.

This move comes three months after Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) signed the bill making sports betting legal in the Great Lakes State.

Next Wednesday is one day before the 2020 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the first big event that the public will be able to bet on.
