Consumers Energy Plans Power Outage For Jackson County
If you live in Jackson County, you might want to know this tad bit of information so you don't wake up in the middle of the night wondering why the heck your power is out.
Consumers Energy announced that there is a planned power outage on May 22 at 11 p.m. and will last for about eight hours.
So, if you're like me and you're someone who uses their phone as their alarm and waits until they go to bed to charge their phone, you might want to jump on that earlier in the day.
If you're worried about forgetting, you could always buy yourself a portable charger. I ordered one off of Amazon a couple of weeks ago before I went on vacation, so I could charge my phone on the plane. Let me tell you, this charger is the best and it's only $22.99. You're welcome.
What is Consumers Energy working on?
Consumers Energy will be replacing a pole and upgrading the transformer bank at the Grass Lake substation.
Consumers Energy senior public information director, Terry DeDoes says that they will be working on the power at night to avoid any daytime disturbances.

Do you remember the blackout from 2003?
August 14, 2003 nearly 50 million people were without power. We all know that August is the hottest month in Michigan and that's the main thing I remember. My family and I tried sleeping in the basement in attempt to get a break from the heat but it didn't actually help.
