Growing up (and I am a grown up, no matter what anyone else who lives in the same house with me might tell you), I remember that my Grandpa always had a Farmers' Almanac sitting on one of his tables in the house which was a good thing.

Because my Grandpa was indeed a farmer. So this book was apparently of great use to him.

One of the things that I remember is that both my Grandpa and my Dad would refer to the signs of nature in the Almanac that could almost always predict the weather, like if we were going to have a bad winter or not. Yeah, I'm not sure if you know it or not, but there are about 20 different things in the Farmers' Almanac that will tell you what kind of winter that we are going to have. The whole list was published in 1978 but I can guarantee you that this list holds true today. I know it did then. And this was before all of the fancy technology we have today.
