The Lansing State Journal is reporting today the woman killed has been identified as 43-year-old Bessie Saline Rodriguez of Lansing.  She was shot and killed in the back lot of the McLaren Greater Lansing orthopedic hospital on South Pennsylvania Avenue around 7 o'clock.  Rodriguez worked at the hospital.

The gunman has been identified as 44-year-old Johnnie Conner Jr.  Police say the Lansing man followed the victim to the facility where he confronted her in the parking lot and ultimately killed her.  He then shot himself.

Police say the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute but have given no specifics on what turned the argument deadly.  They're still interviewing friends, family and neighbors to determine what could have led to the shooting and whether threats had been made before.

Meanwhile, grief counselors will be at the hospital today.  There were 35 employees and 21 patients in the facility at the time of the shootings.  The building was put on lock-down and no one inside was hurt.
