Great News For Michigan!
Great News for Michigan!
I read an uplifting article in Mlive.com written by Kyle Feldscher, which pointed out that the Michigan State Budget Office released their annual report today stating that the graduation rate for the 2013-14 school year rose 1.62% in the 2012-13 school year (senior graduating in 4 years).
That put’s Michigan's high school graduation rate at 78.58% compared to the national graduation rate of 81% according to federal data for the 2011-12 school year, which is the latest data available.
This is the fourth straight year Michigan’s high school graduation rate increased.
More great news:
According to the report the dropout rate has declined for the fourth consecutive year. In the 2013-14 school year, 9.61% of Michigan high school students dropped out of school. That's down from 10.54 percent in 2012-13.
According to the Mlive.com article by Kyle Feldscher the “graduation rate is calculated by following individual students from their enrollment in ninth grade, according to CEPI (Center for Educational Performance and Information) officials. In addition to the four-year graduation rate, the center measures the five-year and six-year graduation rates.”
i always enjoy reporting good news about Michigan.
Hmmm! Who was governor the last 4 years?
