Final 2013 Vehicle Sales Numbers: Toyota is #1

In all of last year it's being reported Toyota sold 9.98 million cars and trucks worldwide. That makes Toyota the top seller for two years in a row. Volkswagen came in second with 9.73 million and General Motors was third with 9.71 million total vehicle sales. The "Detroit News" is reporting Volkswagen is vowing to be in the sales top spot by 2018. The automaker says plans are not only in place to expand U.S. sales. The company also says over the next five years it will invest about seven billion dollars in facilities in North America.
