Former Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best says he won't be sidelined anymore.  The 2010 first-round draft pick is suing both the NFL and Riddell claiming inaction and deception cut short his football career.

Best has filed suit in Wayne County Circuit Court alleging that the league was aware for years of the dangers of concussions and risks to professional athletes but "deliberatly igorned and actively concealed" that information.

He is also suing helmet maker Riddell as being complicit.  NFL officials say the suit has absolutely no merit and is simply an attempt by Best to find some to blame for his defunct football career.

Best ran for 1000-plus yards and six touchdowns as a rookie.  He was limited to 6 games, though, the following year due to injuries and eventally cut by Detroit in July.
