You Wanna Know How Much Mail The Census Has Sent Me?
The folks at the U.S. Census must really like me.
As in they'd like to hear from me. And you. Because the deadline is getting near.
We told you a little while back about them moving up the deadline from the end of October to September.
The U.S. Census Bureau is ending all counting efforts for the 2020 census on Sept. 30, a month sooner than previously announced, the bureau's director confirmed Monday in a statement. That includes critical door-knocking efforts and collecting responses online, over the phone and by mail. (NPR)

And back at the beginning of August, I had just moved and received a visit from some census takers.
I appreciate these folks being on their job and working against the clock. However, I had also been presented with a very unique situation.
I moved at the end of July. I had been at the new residence for about 2 weeks when I received notice of their visit. And I had already filled out the census from my previous address.
I went online, ,actually followed the instructions left by the census takers at my door, and filled it out. I let them know I had already filed at my previous address and had not been at this one since April 1st (one of their questions and what I assume was an immediate disqualifier). After that, I thought I was done.
Then I get this.
Aww come on. I have gone above and beyond lol. I filed at my old address. I even attempted to do the right thing at the new address. You're still killing trees to make sure someone from this address is counted lol.
What to do what to do?
I read through the paperwork and on the last page of the survey, I find this.
If you need help...call toll free 1-844-330-2020. And that's what I did.
Cause sometimes you just gotta talk to someone.
After a couple of prompts and being on hold for about 2 minutes (less really), I got through to a live person who was super nice.
They appreciated all my efforts and wished that everyone would be so diligent about filling out the census. And they explained why I was getting so much attention because they were indeed trying to be thorough and make sure everyone at every address was counted. That deadline is fast approaching so they are doubling their efforts.
So I'm reminding you that their deadline is at the end of this month (September 30th). If you haven't filled out the census, please do so.
