We've been talking a lot about the insane amount of snow the Upper Peninsula has gotten this winter, so much so that what appeared to be a beautiful photo of a snow cap in the French Alps, was nothing more than a giant snow pile in a Meijer parking lot in Marquette. There is one part of the U.P. in Gratiot Lake in the Keweenaw Peninsula that may end up getting a total of 300 inches for the entire season. Things are going a little rough up there for the Yoopers, but this yearly experience has crafted them to be diligent and improvisational.

Recently Christy Spidell and her family took the insane snowfall that they've gotten and had a little fun with it, shaping it into long couches that span the length of he deck. I guess you could consider these to be "frozen assets:"

Here's the advantage you have with furniture like this: If you're watching the football game on your snow tv, you never have to worry about your beverage getting warm and you can basically turn it into any kind of other piece of furniture when you're tired of it. It's Yooper furniture at its finest.

A lot of people in the PureUP Facebook group had fun commenting on the furniture, with one person even suggesting they add some color to it by air spraying some paint on it, although that may not be the stain they want on their deck.
