Utility companies are suggesting customers go easy on the air conditioning as temperatures in the Lansing area climb to an expected 95 degrees on Friday.

Running air conditioning full blast could be expensive.  You need to set your temperature to a level that's safe for everyone's comfort.

Consumers Energy set a notice to customers recommending they keep air conditioning units to 78 degrees when they are home and higher when they are away.

The company expects customers to use air conditioning units 40 percent more than in a typical July.

The Lansing Board of Water and Light likewise generally recommends customers conserve energy during hot weather.

The Lansing area is expected to be well above normal temperatures through Sunday.  For more information, please click here on Lansing State Journal.
