Michigan unemployment is about to end for around 400, 000 Michiganders very soon, federal benefits expire Sept. 4th

Michigan state lawmakers are again looking over serious issues surrounding the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency. The findings they say are troubling. One is going so far as to say the agency needs to be “razed” and rebuilt from scratch.

Some unemployed Michiganders have already started receiving their $300. Others have not. As a matter of fact, some Michiganders are not receiving any benefits at all.

The bill will also offer up match funding for flood clean up in Midland and Gladwin Counties.

The lawmakers say the agency responsible for managing unemployment benefits assistance is running into a big hole with no vision to work out of it.

The extra federal unemployment benefit comes to an end in Michigan next week, but there's still a chance it could get extended.

Michigan is expanding eligibility for unemployment benefits for those home with kids, quarantined and who are immunocompromised.
