The Number Of Chickens You Can Own In Non-Agricultural Areas

You actually are limited to the number of chickens that you can own here in the city of Lansing, based upon where you live at.

For example, if you live in a non-agricultural or downtown area, you are limited to only five hens in total within city limits.

Ontop of that, you do have other rules that you could be required to follow in Ingham county, for example:

"Chickens must be kept in an enclosure so constructed or repaired as to keep the chickens confined on the owner’s property, and to prevent rats, mice, or other rodents from being harbored underneath, within, or within the walls of the enclosure" From the Ingham County website.
