A study done by Northwestern Medicine had shown that most who had been hospitalized for COVID-19, have also suffered from symptoms that affect the brain.

The study focused on 509 patients that had been hospitalized because of the virus. Roughly, 82% of the participants in this study, had experienced some type of neurological symptoms, while having coronavirus.

Of the most frequent of these symptoms included, muscle pain, headaches, and encephalopathy, or altered mental function which included confusion to comas, according to WILX.

Patients who had encephalopathy had a higher death rate than those without as well.
