Movie Theaters in Lansing Area Have a New Rule You Should Know About
Who does not love going out to the movies with family and friends or even by yourself to escape the crazy things going on in our lives? I went to the movies quite a bit as a kid, it was only 75 cents to see some movies back then and a great way to pass the time.
Of course, as kids, we always try to get in and see a movie we are not supposed to. It had to be rated G or PG for all ages to get in. If it had an R rating kids had to have an adult with them. On occasion we got away with it, but not all the time.
So kids and parents need to know about a new rule from celebration Cinemas in Michigan. No one under the age of 16 can go to a movie there after 5 p.m according to lansingstatejournal.com unless they have an adult with them.
Here Is What You Need To Know
This will start on Wednesday at 3 of the Celebration Cinemas in Lansing, Muskegon, and Benton Harbor. Emily Loeks passed along the info and is the director of public relations and community affairs for Studio C. They own the theatres.
They are doing this because of problems they have been having with kids' behaviors lately at the movies from larger groups of unaccompanied kids under 16.
Some groups are great," she said. "But there have been enough behavioral issues that this is a policy that we're finding that we need to implement at a few theaters. I would just say that our teams have requested this because of increasing challenges with larger and larger packs of younger kids.
Hopefully, This Will Make Movies More Enjoyable
They are hoping this will solve the problem they've been having. It may be a good idea though because everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy a movie without any distractions. That is what we pay for when we go to a movie, and of course the overloaded butter in the popcorn. Yum.
