This Wonderful Lansing Area Town Has Been Named Michigan’s Most Underrated
Every state has one. The most underrated destination town that just doesn't have the kind of publicity that it should! There are plenty of quaint towns in Michigan that are severely underrated, but which one tops the list?
Do you recognize that picture? Those of us who live in Mid-Michigan probably do, seeing as the most underrated town is fairly close to home. Like a lot of Michigan small towns, it has a cute little strip of old buildings full of life and joy. Unlike some other destinations, though, you might find yourself stumbling upon a castle.
That's right, we're talking about Owosso. Not a ton of Michigan towns are home to something as cool as a castle. In fact, author James Oliver once stayed in Curwood Castle.
The national website Love Exploring put together a list of underrated towns in each state, and their pick for Michigan was the town of Owosso. We can definitely see why. It has a small-town feel, history to explore, and a literal castle. There are tons of things to check out in the city of Owosso, including a lovely river walk, and of course the Shiawassee River.
If you haven't had the chance to visit Owosso yet, what are you waiting for? It would make a great end-of-summer day trip.
