WILX.com is reporting that the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency is asking those that need to certify unemployment claims to not do so on Monday, April 20.

The request comes as UIA looks to keep its online certification system from failing. Unemployed workers are required by federal law to certify their status bi-weekly. If this is your week to do so, wait until later in the week during off peak hours. Certifying on a later day of the week does not impact the amount of your payments.
