Dobie Road was closed in Okemos Friday night into early Saturday as authorities searched the Red Cedar River for a potentially missing person. But, according to LSJ.com, officials have called off the search after locating a person fitting the description matching the initial witness's descriptiion.

Meridian Township Police, Lansing dive crews, Ingham County Rescue units, and others searched the river and surrounding grounds for hours before finding the person matching the original description of a call placed to authorities. Apparently, a passer by thought a man in his late teens and early 20's carrying a backpack with dark clothes.fell or jumped into the river. However, when the subject found fitting the description confirmed that he was sitting on the bridge, authorities recognized the confusion and called off the search.
