According to a report from WILX.com, Lansing Mayor Andy Schor has scrapped his plan to sell the Lansing City Market to a private developer.

Following a public discussion regarding the potential sale of the market Thursday evening, Schor has decided to listen to and follow up on ideas to rejuvenate the facility while keeping the building and property under city control.

This, however, does not change the city's decision to end financial subsidies for the venue. And, Mayor Schor specifically detailed that the city will maintain control of the specific building and land that the building sits upon. The possibility was left open to sell riverfront property between the market and the Grand River.
