Is Jack in the Box FINALLY Returning to Michigan?
There are some fast food joints that seem to get more hype than others - especially when there are just a few locations (or none at all) in your state.
That certainly seems to be the case with Jack in the Box, which often tops lists of restaurants folks want in Michigan.
In addition to burgers and chicken sandwiches, at Jack in the Box, you'll also find tacos and a 24-hour hour breakfast menu.
Jack in the Box also serves up shakes, curly fries, onion rings, egg rolls, salads, stuffed jalapenos, chicken tenders and nuggets, and more.
The fast food chain was founded in 1951 in San Diego, California. From there, it expanded and actually used to have locations in southeast Michigan, but those closed decades ago.
Well, it sounds like Jack in the Box is headed back to Michigan!
Jack in the Box to Open Five Restaurants in Michigan
Crain's Grand Rapids reports that Jack In The Box Inc. has signed an agreement with franchisee Niraj Patel to open five Michigan locations in the next five years.
The new restaurants are planned for southwest and south central Michigan, with a focus on Kent, Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties. The first Jack in the Box is plotted for Battle Creek.
Niraj Patel, new Jack in the Box franchisee said in a statement,
We are excited to announce five Jack in the Box locations in our West Michigan area over the span of five years. We will open the first Jack in the Box location in Battle Creek, Michigan. This is very exciting because we can give our community more food options and help provide 40 to 50 new jobs per location. We have been in our West Michigan community for decades, and we love to see the growth in our community. We own and operate a dozen hotels in the West Michigan area and want to expand our hospitality portfolio with the addition of a QSR concept.
The new locations will offer dine-in, drive-thru, and mobile ordering options and will be open 24 hours per day.
Jack in the Box also announced an additional 10-store development agreement for Orlando, FL.
Exact locations and opening dates for West Michigan locations have yet to be announced - we will keep you posted as we learn more!
