Does this continue the life long debate of which is better: Apple or Android?

According to Fox 5, if you own iPhones or iPads, you're probably going to want to update your software by this Sunday at midnight, or you may not be able to connect to the internet.

This issue was accordingly caused by a GPS clock reset earlier in April. Apparently, this issue happens every 19 years. After that, users were given a few months to update the software before the deadline this weekend.

The apple products that reportedly need to be updated are: iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad Retina Display, 4th gen iPad. As well as those with iOS 10.3.4 and iOS 9.3.6. Devices with any iOS after those will stay connected and shouldn't need to be updated.

Don't worry though, you should be able to update it manually by connecting it a computer if you miss this deadline.
