The 4th of July is right around the corner. UP NORTH is calling.

And if you're traveling, you won't be alone. AAA says the roads and the airports will be packed.

  • A record 48.9-million Americans will travel 50 miles or more during the Fourth of July holiday weekend from July 3-7, which is 4.1% more than last year
  • 41.4-million people will be hitting the road, up 4.3% from last year, with 3.96-million people flying to their destination, up 5.3% from last year (AAA)

And if you are driving, you should try to leave early. Like Tuesday. Because if you hit the road Wednesday, you could be going nowhere FAST.

The busiest day on the roads will be July 3, when commuters and holiday travelers mix, AAA determined in collaboration with INRIX.
