Grab Your Skates and Head to Downtown Lansing For Some Winter Fun
Cooler temperatures mark the start of winter activities in Michigan. Lucky for us here in Lansing, one fun winter activity is returning to Downtown this season: an ice skating rink!
WLNS reports that "a 3,300+ square foot synthetic skating rink will open tomorrow in downtown Lansing." Tomorrow, as in November 5th.
It's Time to Grab Your Skates and Lace-Up
This is the second time that this synthetic ice skating rink will be set up. The rink had its inaugural run last winter in 2020. It did so well last year that the local Downtown businesses and the Capital Region Community Foundation decided to bring it back again this year.
Where to Find Winter Fun in Downtown Lansing
The rink is set up in front of Lansing City Hall, on the corner of West Michigan Avenue and South Capitol Avenue. It's also right across from the State Capitol building, which will make for some excellent views and pictures! While you're skating, you'll also be able to enjoy a great view of the state Christmas Tree and some lovely holiday music being pumped through the speakers.

The rink will be open every day until 10 pm for people to skate. There are no skates to rent, so you do have to make sure you bring your own if you want to participate in the winter fun. This ice skating rink opens up just in time for locals and tourists to enjoy Downtown Lansing's annual Silver Bells in the City festivities, which return on Friday, November 19th.
