Exciting News For Michigan Capitol’s Heritage Hall Coming in May

Been in Lansing for almost a year and a half now and I love living downtown. So much to do especially if you're looking to pass time on a day off or on the weekends.

Downtown Lansing may not be on your winter bucket list but it should be!  Even if you’ve lived here for a long time, there’s something so enjoyable about taking a day to really enjoy and experience downtown.

Even though it's January, we can look forward to this spring to enjoy a new baseball season at Lugnuts Stadium, Capitol City Market family events, kayaking down the Grand River with River Town Adventures, Impression 5, and touring the Capitol.

So Much To Do Downtown Lansing

Of course, locals love to visit the awesome areas of Downtown Lansing like REO Town, and Old Town.

And check this out The Michigan Capitol has been under major construction for quite a while and coming this spring it will be home to Heritage Hall, a meeting and exhibit center for school trips and tourism according to fox47news.com.

Heritage Hall is a 40,000-square-foot underground facility that will be a supplement to the state Capitol building and the Capitol grounds," said Rob Blackshaw, the executive director of the Michigan State Capitol Commission. "The main intent is to have a brand new entrance for the school groups that come in on a regular basis.

 

Much Safer For Our School Kids

Starting in May school kids can be dropped off closer to the building which will be much safer. There will be an underground area for tour groups, a movie room for films about state history, and plenty of displays just like a museum.

By the time May hits the Michigan Capitol will be so much more enjoyable and have so much to offer as well as adding comfort. Now let's get through the winter and get ready for spring which officially kicks in March 20th, 2022.
